Valerie, originally from Pittsburgh, PA, embarked on her journey in the field of applied behavior analysis with a solid educational foundation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders with a minor in special education from James Madison University, followed by a master’s degree in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from George Mason University.
During her time in Virginia, Valerie dedicated herself to supporting children with significant behavioral challenges. Beginning as an ABA therapist at a school, she later transitioned into a Special Education teaching position. In this capacity, Valerie acquired a wealth of experience navigating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adeptly navigating the intricacies of the educational system. Her role as a registered behavior technician provided her with invaluable hands-on experience, serving as a foundation upon which she later achieved her BCBA certification.
In 2020, Valerie, along with her husband and two beloved dogs, made the move to the Charlotte area, where she became part of the Kind Behavioral Health team.
Outside of her professional commitments, Valerie embraces a diverse range of interests. Whether unwinding with the latest Netflix series, staying active through kayaking and weight lifting, or channeling her creativity into art and cooking, Valerie finds fulfillment in various pursuits. With a holistic approach, she prioritizes balance and well-being, continually seeking personal and professional growth while providing compassionate, evidence-based support to individuals and families.
